It was last July that I made the decision to become a career missionary. After serving in Argentina for almost 4 years I came home thinking that I was done. But after months of praying and a time of fasting; God showed me that He was calling me back to Argentina long-term. I still remember the day as I was sitting at Snoqualmie Falls with a rainbow in the back ground knowing that God was promising to be with me every step of the way.
So much has happened since that day… In September I went back to college. My first couple semesters I studied at Green River C.C working on electives then I transferred to Multnomah where I am working on a degree in Leadership and Ministry. During this time of studying I was also able to return to Catamarca for three months.
In February I had MAC (Missionary Assessment Center) in which I spent five days being observed by a team in Orlando. At the end of the week they approved me to continue on with the process of becoming a career missionary with Converge Worldwide (formerly known as BGC – Baptist General Conference).
In April not only did I start commuting to Multnomah for school but I also returned to Orlando for my final interview by the Board of Overseers for Converge Worldwide. I was approved and voted in as a new missionary appointee. During this time I have had the privilege of meeting many people on staff with Converge. This has been an encouragement to me as going as a short-term missionary I never met anyone except through email.
Meeting Jerry and Dee Sheveland, President and "first lady" of Converge.
Following the MPD training I attended the Converge Worldwide biennial meeting. This week was a time of encouragement as I spent time getting to know missionaries on the field as well as other appointees who are in process of going overseas. We ended the week by commissioning all of the missionaries that were appointed in the past two years.
Currently I am putting together information as I prepare to go out and recruit a team who will support my ministry in Argentina. Please be in prayer that God will direct me to the correct people. Also, pray that He will give you wisdom in whether or not you can play a part in this team. If you want information feel free to contact me!
